Jointly organized by the State Council Information Office of China, Chinese Foreign Language Publishing Administration and the Chinese Embassy in Italy, this seminar was attended by 200 Chinese and foreign guests, including Vito Petrocelli, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Italy, Marina Sereni, former Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament, Jiang Jianguo, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Li Ruiyu, Chinese ambassador to Italy. Besides, more than 30 teachers and students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Rome La Sapienza and the Confucius Classroom at Rome Convitto Nazionnale Vittorio Emanuele II attended this activity.

To begin with, Jiang Jianguo read President Xi Jinping’s letter of response to Paolo Maria Reale, President of Rome Convitto Nazionnale Vittorio Emanuele II, and eight high school students, and presented them with the Chinese version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China II which bore President Xi Jinping’s signature. Teachers and students said the letter from President Xi Jinping was a great surprise to the whole school, and that they will work harder to learn Chinese and become ambassadors of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
